Orange High School Time Capsule Display Cabinet

This project truly came full circle for me. I started my formal woodworking career at OHS back in 2016 — and in 2026, Brown Dog was contracted to build the cabinet housing the school's 50-year time capsule, right out front.

The design balances function and aesthetics in equal measure. I used the golden ratio to size the cabinet and proportion every rectangle and detail so the piece reads as one harmonious whole. The door features UV-resistant laminated glass, Blum hinges, and gas struts for smooth, occasional access to the capsule itself.
